As a professional subsurface survey company, GeoScan uses the latest in state of the art technology and best practice methods to detect and locate underground objects and utilities including water pipes, sewerage systems, electrical cables, telecom cables and other buried objects.
The primary equipment incorporated by GeoScan is GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) and EML (Electromagnetic Locator) with RFL (Radio Frequency Locator). Our technicians are fully trained and certified to use the survey equipment, collect data and interpret it.

Electromagnetic Locator (EML) - vScan with transmitter
The vScan EML / Utility Avoidance Tool manufactured by VIVAX-Metrotech, is able to passively and actively detect underground cables and pipes.
By using the passive locating option the vScan can detect both radio signals and power signals.
During active locating a transmitter is used to induce a signal into a cable or pipe that can be detected by the receiver.
